Leaving New Delhi for Medical Camp

From Vrindavan we headed back to Delhi to join Dr. Charak and his team of volunteer doctors and nurses at the train station (1st picture). We took the overnight train to Mirzapur and from there drove about 45 minutes to Hans Baba's ashram where Dr. Charak's team would host a free medical camp.Although sleeping arrangements on the train were a bit tight (see picture of Gregory climbing into the top bunk), we were all so thankful to have a place to sleep during the night.

Upon arriving at Hans Baba's ashram, Dr. Charak (far left in 1st picture) and team  set up a small pharmacy to dispense medicines to patients (2nd picture). The first day of camp approximately 1,000 attendees were registered and screened for those requiring immediate surgery (3rd picture).

Love-Joy-Union Journey to India

We arrive in New Delhi late evening of Nov 20th. The next morning we leave for Vrndavan - home and birth land of Sri Ksrna. On Nov 21st we take an overnight train to Mizapur where Dr. Charak and his team of volunteer doctors and nurses will host a free medical camp for the poor and needy of India. Then on the 26th we travel to Varanasi - a beautifully sacred town dedicated to the worship of Shiva. From there we travel to Khajuraho, Orchh, Bhopal and Omkareshwar to see many beautiful temples, including one the 12 sacred Shiva Lingas. The last leg of the trip will take us to the east coast of India - Bhubaneshwa, Konark (where we will visit the Sun Temple) and finally to Puri - a beautiful beach community... place of Sri Yukteswar Giri's teaching of Paramhansa Yogananda in his youth. Then, at the end of the 3 weeks, back to New Delhi where, on Dec. 9th we fly home.
